WorkflowUI E2E Tests - Quick Start Guide

Prerequisites

• Node.js 18+
• npm 9+
• Mock DBAL running on port 8080
• WorkflowUI running on port 3000

Quick Start (3 commands)

# 1. Start Mock DBAL (Terminal 1)
cd workflowui/test-server
npm start

# 2. Start WorkflowUI (Terminal 2)
cd workflowui
npm run dev

# 3. Run Tests (Terminal 3)
cd workflowui/test-server
npm run test:comprehensive

Test Commands

# Run all tests with list output
npm run test:comprehensive

# Run with interactive UI
npm run test:e2e:ui

# Run with visible browser
npm run test:e2e:headed

# Run all E2E tests
npm run test:e2e

# Run integration tests only
npm run test:integration

Current Status

Tests: 27 comprehensive E2E tests Passing: 8/27 (30%) - See KNOWN ISSUES below Expected: 24+/27 (90%+) after Next.js restart

Test Categories

• B. Dashboard Tests (2 tests) - Stats, workspace management
• C. Workflow Editor (5 tests) - n8n-style editor functionality

Known Issues

🚨 Next.js Build Error (BLOCKS 19/27 tests)

Error: Failed to read source code from icons/react.ts

Fix: Restart Next.js dev server

# Stop workflowui (Ctrl+C in Terminal 2)
cd workflowui
npm run dev  # Restart

Expected After Fix: 90%+ test pass rate

Salesforce Login

URL: http://localhost:3000/login

Features:

• Toggle between Salesforce and Material Design styles
• Remember me checkbox
• Forgot password link
• Social login buttons (Google, Microsoft)
• Error handling with visual feedback

Test Credentials:

• Email: test@workflowui.dev
• Password: Test123!@#

Mock DBAL Endpoints

Base URL: http://localhost:8080

Health Check:

Seed Data:

• 4 workspaces
• 6 workflows
• Tenant ID: test-tenant

Troubleshooting

Port Already in Use

# Kill process on port 8080
lsof -ti:8080 | xargs kill -9

# Kill process on port 3000
lsof -ti:3000 | xargs kill -9

Tests Timing Out

Increase timeout in playwright.config.ts:

timeout: 60000, // 60 seconds

Check permissions:

chmod -R 755 test-results/
